承担了《分析化学》、《仪器分析》、《化学前沿》、《学科导论》等本科生课程以及《电分析化学》、《纳米生物材料学》等研究生课程的教学工作,引导本科生科研训练和毕业论文,取得良好教学效果。引导的多名本科生获得国家级大学生创新创业训练计划项目,引导的多篇博士学位论文被评为江西省优秀博士学位论文,引导的多篇硕士学位论文被评为江西省优秀硕士学位论文

主持国家自然科学基金6项(含面上项目2项)、教育部新世纪优秀人才支撑计划、江西省主要学科学术和技术带头人培养对象计划、江西省科技创新驱动“5511”工程专项计划、江西省高等学校科技落地计划、江西省青年科学家培养对象计划以及江西省自然科学基金等项目的研究工作。担任Nature集团旗下Scientific Reports期刊编委、中国仪器仪表学会分析仪器分会第六届化学传感器专业委员会委员、中国仪器仪表学会分析仪器分会电分析化学专业委员会委员、江西省化学化工学会常务理事。主要研究方向为功能纳米材料、分子识别传感、光电化学、化学生物信息学等,在新型生物功能材料研制、生物传感界面构建和光电纳米探针研制等方面取得了一系列研究进展:合成制备了多种新型仿生材料;利用纳米仿生材料与生物分子(DNA、酶、抗体)的相互作用,研究了生物分子在仿生材料上的固定化以及生物活性和构象变化的动力学机制;研制了多种有应用前景的光电纳米生物探针和传感器件,并用于生物识别和环境污染物分析;此外,在蛋白质结构与功能的理论研究方面进行了深入探索,正在进行理论与实验验证紧密结合的研究工作。Chemical Communications, Chemistry-A European Journal, Analytical Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Biosensors & Bioelectronics, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Journal of Proteome Research等国际刊物上发表SCI收录学术论文160余篇,他引4000余次,单篇最高他引245次,H指数366项科研成果被授予“Top Cited Author”荣誉称号;获江西省自然科学奖1项,江西省高等学校科技成果奖2项;授权发明专利15项。
